Setting up e-commerce shop on WhatsApp

If you wish to sell your products on WhatsApp you must ensure that you have the following in place.

  1. You have a Meta Catalog, that is of "Online Products" category. 
  2. The Catalog contains product items.
  3. You have given EasySocial partner access to this catalog.
  4. Your Catalog is Linked to your WhatsApp Business Account
  5. Optional Steps for auto Payment Collection (available for businesses in India & Singapore only.)
    1. You have payment methods connected to your WABA account eg. Razorpay, PayU for India or Stripe for Singapore.
    2. Share your payment configuration name with EasySocial support via email.

Step by Step Guide to Set-up E-commerce on WhatsApp with EasySocial

Creating Meta Catalogue

  1. Go to https://business.facebook.com/settings/
  2. Click on the business where you wish to create a catalog.
  3. On the left menu, navigate to Data Sources > Catalogue

  4. Click on the "Add" button > "Create a new catalogue" .
  5. A pop up window will appear, give a name for the new catalogue.
  6. In the dropdown below choose the category "Online Products". Refer the image below.
    NOTE: No other category is compatible with WhatsApp API as of now, so you may ONLY choose Online Products option.

  7. Click on Create Catalog button.
  8. Now another pop up screen appears, here you will see a list of users linked to your account, here you can select one or many users whom you want to give permission to manage your catalogue. If you are not sure whom to give the permission you can select all. Then on the bottom right you need to enable "full control" so that these people can later manage this catalogue.

  9. Click on Assign button at the bottom right.
  10. You might see another pop-up window you can click on the cross on top.
  11. Congratulations! Your catalog is now created.

Adding Products to the Catalogue

  1. Click on Open in Commerce Manager on your catalogue.
  2. Once the commerce manager opens, click on Add Items button on the top right.
  3. Choose Manual option and click next.
  4. Here you add items by filling up various fields as suggested in the form.
  5. Now you have successfully added the products to your Catalogue!

Giving Partner Access to EasySocial to Access yout Catalogue

  1. Go to https://business.facebook.com/settings/
  2. Click on the business where you have already created your catalogue.
  3. On the left menu, navigate to Data Sources > Catalogue 
  4. Click on the catalogue that you wish to share with EasySocial. And click on Assign Partners button.

  5. A pop up window will appear asking you to assign partner, Click on Business ID option.

  6.  Now, you will see a window to where you shouls add the Business ID. Here enter the following Business ID for EasySocial:  1355783421674765
    Also, click grant Full Control by turning on the last option and click on Next.

  7. Congratulations! Now the access has been granted to EasySocial!

Linking Catalogue to your WABA Account

  1. Go to https://business.facebook.com/settings/
  2. Click on the business where you wish to link your a catalog to your WABA account.
  3. In the left menu, under the accounts menu option click on WhatsApp accounts.

  4. Click on the WhatsApp Business Manager account that you wish to connect your catalogue with.
  5. On the right side more details regarding this account will appear. Click on the settings tab followed by WhatsApp Manager button.

  6. WhatsApp Manager will open, on this page on the left navigate to Catalogue menu, and click on it.WhatsApp Catalog Menu.png
     
  7. This will open a page, that will prompt you to link a catalog to your WABA account. Click on Choose a catalogue button.

  8. Now a pop up window will appear, it will give you a list of catalogs available in your business, select the desired catalog. Remember you can only link one catalog to your business. Once you have selected the catalogue, click on Connect Catalogue button to finish.

  9. Congratulations! This concludes linking of Catalog to your WABA account.
  10. Now you can go to https://app.easysocial.io/business/wa/catalog to mange the settings on your WhatsApp ecommerce shop via EasySocial.
